Portland Parks and Recreation

Portland Parks & Recreation provides care to over 10,000 acres of parks and natural areas.

Portland Parks & Recreation contributes to the city's vitality by:

Metro

Metro's broad charter is to provide planning, policy making, and services to preserve and enhance the region's quality of life. Its earliest responsibilities included urban growth boundary management, transportation planning, waste disposal planning and management, and operating the zoo – all of which remain in the Metro portfolio today.

Portland Community College

Portland Community College is the largest institution of higher learning in the state, serving more than 1,373,758 college-age residents in a five-county, 1,500-squaremile area in northwest Oregon. During the 2006-2007 school year over 86,164 students (58% female, 42% male) attended PCC. Part of a vibrant, urban community, Portland Community College is a crossroads for people with many destinations. This diversity is vital to the PCC experience.

Clackamas Community College

The mission of Clackamas Community College is to serve the people of the college district with high quality education and training opportunities that are accessible to all students, adaptable to changing needs, and accountable to the community we serve.

Elders in Action

Elders in Action is powered by the experience of more than 150 volunteers, who work to solve problems, tackle important issues and help businesses and communities better serve the older customer. We believe the quality of life should never depend on age and welcome the talent and wisdom that older adults can provide to make communities in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties more livable for all.

Women’s Community Education Project

In this course, we will be working with our community partner, the local non-profit feminist bookstore IN OTHER WORDS and their sister organization, The Women's Community Education Project. Our project this term is to coordinate a series of *rap sessions* with local teen girls about current issues in their lives. We will use these group conversations to encourage the girls to become a part of our ZINE project — where they will write, edit, and publish a grassroots, mini-magazine with our class.

Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability

The Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) promotes integrated land use planning and development based on sustainability principles and practices. BPS also develops and implements policies and programs that provide environmental, economic and social benefits to residents, businesses and government, which strengthen Portland's position as an international model of sustainable practices and commerce.

School & Community Reuse Action Project (SCRAP)

SCRAP (School & Community Reuse Action Project) is a 503(c)(3) non-profit organization that inspires creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing education programs and affordable materials to the community.
