Community Food Security

Instructor Name:
Shevawn Armstrong
Course Description:

In this course we will examine and critique local food systems, engage systems thinking to explore the impacts and root causes of food insecurity at the community scale, survey current food movements, and learn about PSU programs and resources designed to promote student food security in our university community. In partnership with the Basic Needs Advisory Board, students will contribute to on-campus food security work through community-based learning projects with student centers and services across campus, such as the PSU Food Pantry, the Basic Needs Hub, and the Student Sustainability Center. For Summer Term 2023, class will meet in person at PSU.
